For the past twenty years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC) has been a primary gathering forum for applied computer scientists, computer engineers, software engineers, and application developers from around the world. SAC 2007 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing, and is hosted this year by Seoul National University in Seoul and Suwon University in Gyeonggi-do, Korea.

Overview
The increasing popularity and advances in Web technologies (XML, Web services, semantic Web, etc.) are enabling the development of new classes of applications and new trends in the design of Information systems. This track focuses on emerging Web technologies, architectures, and methodologies for building and managing advanced Web information systems. The Internet and the related technologies have created an interconnected world in which information can be exchanged easily, tasks can be processed collaboratively, communities of users with similar interests can be formed to achieve efficiency and improve performance, while security threats are present more than ever before.

The goal of this track is to bring together researchers from academia and industry who are actively engaged both in theoretical and practical aspects of Web Technologies. It will present an opportunity for researchers to get together and share recent developments and techniques in order to identify the critical problems and the most promising research avenues. This track addresses the challenging Web technologies issues focusing on exploring novel methods, techniques, and trends to build up and manage information systems. We solicit original research and industrial papers in the area of web-based information technologies with a special interest in the following topics:

• Emerging Web technologies (e.g., Web 2.0 and AJAX)
• Wireless mobile Web
• Web Information Systems
• Security, privacy, and trust of Web technologies
• Quality of Web services
• Web-Centric Systems
• Web services
• Software architectures for Web services
• Business Process Integration
• Web engineering
• Service oriented architecture
• Industrial experiences with Web technologies

Submission Guidelines

Authors should pay particular attention to the following guidelines:

• In order to facilitate blind review, the name(s) and address(es) of the author(s) must not appear in the body of the paper
• Papers should not exceed 4000 words
• Authors should submit a separate cover sheet attached for each paper that includes the title of the paper, the name(s), affiliation(s), address(es), email(s), phone(s), and fax number(s) of the author(s)

All accepted papers will be published in the annual conference proceedings and will be available at the conference. Note that accepted papers must fit within five (5) two-column pages, with the option to add three (3) more pages at an additional expense.

Important Dates
Papers are due: September 8, 2006 (hard deadline with no exceptions)
Author notification: October 16, 2006
Camera ready copy: October 30, 2006
