BIO:Nidal Nasser is currently working as Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science, University of Guelph. Dr. Nasser is the founder and director of the Wireless Networking and Mobile Computing Research Laboratory @ Guelph (WiNG) in the School of Computer Science @ University of Guelph.
Dr. Nasser received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees with Honors in Computer Engineering from Kuwait University, State of Kuwait, in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in the School of Computing at Queen's University, Canada, in 2004.
His current research interest is in the area of computer communication networks and systems. His research interests include, but are not limited to, next generation wireless cellular networks (UMTS, 1xEV-DO and HSPA), broadband wireless and mobile networks (WiMAX), wireless and mobile sensor networks, fourth generation (4G) heterogeneous wireless data networks and systems, mobile and wireless computing, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, performance evaluation of communication networks, and communication protocols and algorithms.
