Mission
At WiNG, we conduct state-of-the-art research on different aspects of Wireless Networking and Mobile Computing to explore future of communications. We are engaged in industrial as well as academic research, covering various topics in wireless and mobile networks from the data link layer to application layer. We also provide training and education at graduate level as well as undergraduate level for students who are interested and dedicated to do research and development in this area.
We explore, design, develop, implement, and study wireless networks and their applications. Our focus at WiNG is particularly geared towards the future of and the needs of telecommunication technology. We are interested in a variety of topics in the following areas:
-
Computer and communication networks
-
Next generation wireless cellular networks (UMTS, UMTS LTE, 1xEV-DO, HSPA, IMS)
-
Broadband wireless and mobile networks (WiMAX)
-
Wireless and mobile sensor networks
-
Fourth generation (4G) heterogeneous wireless data networks and systems
-
Ubiquitous and pervasive computing
-
Performance evaluation of communication networks and communication protocols and algorithms.
We perform our research and develop our models in different platforms including, but not limited to, Java, C, C++, and conduct simulations using the following tools: NS-2, OPNET, Qualnet and MATLAB.
