A celebration party to announce the three winners was held on Wednesday, April 11. The party was very well attended by students, faculty, and staff. In the first few minutes, an overview of the challenge was presented, followed by running the solutions of the three finalists against each other. The final scores were: Ren (254), Michael (223), and Matthew (222). :-)
The top three students were presented with Future Shop Gift Certificates for $150, $100, and $50 for the first, second, and third place, respectively. All the other students who submitted working solutions received a fancy coffee mug from the CIS Computer Science Club. Everyone then enjoyed the pizza (lots of it) and pop.
In summary, the event was a great success and students have enjoyed it. We plan to run other programming competitions in the near future.
A word of thanks: Sunny Dhillon, Michael Nanni, and Anu Malik deserve special thanks for making this event a great success.
