I
hold a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian
Institute of Technolgy, Kanpur, MSc Electrical Engineering from
the University of Ottawa, and PhD in Computer Science from the
University of Waterloo.
For the last fifteen years or so, my research interests have centered
around behavioral level synthesis of digital systems, and CAD
tools for Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), with a greater
emphasis on the latter during the last six to seven years. In
the FPGA area, my main focus so far has been on routability prediction
using stochastic models and on the placement problem under different
constraints. A detailed C.V. is available
online (PDF reader required).
In
addition to academics, I have another life where I enjoy travelling,
gardening, and martial arts. At the present time, I hold the rank
of "Nidan" in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, which
is the second degree black belt.
